This journal explores the story of King David’s repentance and restoration as recorded in 2 Samuel 11-12 and Psalm 51, providing crucial insights for contemporary Christian counseling. Through textual analysis, it is revealed that David’s moral transgressions—adultery with Bathsheba and the murder of Uriah—led to a profound moral and spiritual crisis, affecting his relationship with God and society. Nathan’s wise approach, using a parable to rebuke David, underscores the importance of sensitivity and empathy in counseling. David’s response, characterized by sincere confession and a plea for a clean heart, illustrates the essence of deep repentance. Christian counselors can apply these principles by focusing on genuine confession of sins, relationship reconciliation, and commitment to sustainable change, while understanding that God's forgiveness does not always remove the earthly consequences of actions.
