TZEDAQA: Jurnal Teologi dan Pendidikan Kristen
The word “Tzedaqa” in Hebrew carries a rich and profound meaning, often translated as "Truth" or "Justice." However, in the Biblical context, tzedaqa is more than just a legal act of fairness; it reflects justice that is rooted in love, compassion, and a right relationship with God and others. The philosophy of Tzedaqa emphasizes that true justice cannot be separated from generosity and social responsibility.
For the Providentia Theological Seminary in Batu, the concept of Tzedaqa serves as a foundation for understanding God's justice and humanity’s role in reflecting His nature. Theological education based on Tzedaqa teaches that theological understanding is not merely intellectual but must be manifested in actions that advocate for social justice, moral truth, and harmonious relationships with others (Integrative Theology).
Thus, Tzedaqa challenges and motivates the stakeholders of Providentia Theological Seminary to not only understand the Bible academically but also to live in the truth and justice of God in every aspect of life.
